THE PASSION:
Thursday Suppers
in Lent 2026

ONCE AGAIN THIS LENT you are invited to gather in the parish hall each Thursday evening to join with others for supper, to share in a simple service of Holy Communion, and to reflect on a passage from Mark’s account of the events of Holy Week - alongside an artist’s representation - before ending with the traditional office of Night Prayer.  You may not be able to come every week, but that’s OK as each evening will stand alone and requires no previous knowledge or involvement. Nor do you need to be an art buff or biblical scholar in order to contribute to the discussion - your thoughts and appreciation is as good as anyone’s, so there’s no need to think it’s not for you! The 'in-house' course booklet is available for use privately, whether or not you can come along on Thursday evenings. The questions with each text and image will be used to start and steer the discussion each week.

 

As we ‘preview the Passion’ in the weeks of Lent, we are able to prepare for the liturgies of Holy Week & Easter and enter more deeply into the mystery at the heart of our faith.​ You can download a pdf copy of the leaflet, or pick one up from the back of church when you're passing! Places for supper each evening are limited, but you are welcome to join later in the evening if places are already booked.
