The Wilderness Yet combines the acclaimed talents of folksinger Rosie Hodgson, traditional fiddler Rowan Piggott, and guitarist-flautist Philippe Barnes. They have earned audiences’ esteem as consummate musicians & singers, weaving an eclectic tapestry of traditional and original songs.

The Last Thursday Supper Club is a chance to share a meal on the last Thursday of each month, followed by an informal communion service, a brief talk and  discussion, and ending with Night Prayer. You're invited to pay what you can - and if you want to slip away once the meal is over, that's perfectly fine!​​ Places are limited so booking is essential!

This month we welcome friends from Fano, Italy at the beginning of their first visit to St Saviour's! ​​

Following their Greatest Showman workshop back in August, the Theatreland team are back with a one-day opportunity for some freaky fun! The first session from 9am till noon offers 4-7yr olds drama games, facepainting, singing and pumpkin art activities; and from 10am-4pm there's a chance for 8-17yr olds to work on a mash-up of songs from Little Shop of Horrors, The Addams Family, Michael Jackson's Thriller and more - ending with a performance to parents at 4pm!

If you would like a loved one to be included in the prayers at this year's All Souls Memorial Service then please use the button below to add their names.

We hope you will be able to attend this very special service of choral music and prayers of remembrance. There will also be an opportunity to light a candle as a sign of remembrance and prayer.

Smaller (and a bit chillier) than our summer festival, this could be just a one-off or might grow into a regular feature in the parish calendar!  You can expect classic Christmassy vibes, with Community Choirs and live music across the weekend; delicious food from the amazing Street Food Heroes, 12 seasonal cask ales, mulled wine & cider plus a range of alcohol-free and soft drinks.

As part of St Saviour's 125th Anniversary year, we will welcome Br Felix SSF to lead our annual retreat. We return to the House of Retreat in Pleshey, Essex for a weekend of prayer, reflection and worship.​ More details of the weekend's theme will be announced in due course, along with costs and booking details.

 

​​​​​​​Br Felix is a professed member of the First Order of The Society of St Francis and based at Alnmouth Friary in Northumberland.​​​

Mark is an established singer-songwriter and guitarist who performs all-original songs in his own very individual style, with elements of rock, folk, blues & Americana. He has been frequently featured on BBC Radio 2 Pick of the Week show and the Radio 2 Folk Show, and he and his band have been live guests on Cerys Matthews’ Radio 2 show.

The Captain's Beard are a folk-rock, pirate band from Brighton, UK. Their music ranges from traditional folk and sea shanties, upbeat originals and downright silly songs about Cockney Mermaids, English Monarchs and rubbish vans.​ 

​

This is the band's first gig in St Albans, and The Jolly Saviour bar is already researching the best rum-punch recipies!​ Did someone say fancy-dress?​​​​
